Follow these 8 steps to setup Xtream Codes API on XCIPTV Player for your Android TV box. All steps work with the standard Android TV remote.

Install XCIPTV Player from Google Play Store

On your Android TV home screen, navigate to the Google Play Store app. Use the search icon (magnifying glass) and type "XCIPTV Player". Select the app by M.W.D and click Install. The app is free and takes about 30 seconds to download and install.

Android TV tip: If you have a Chromecast with Google TV, the Play Store is under the "Apps" tab on the home screen. On NVIDIA Shield, it is in the app launcher row. You do NOT need to sideload XCIPTV on Android TV.

Launch XCIPTV Player & Accept Permissions

Open XCIPTV Player from your Android TV app launcher. The app will ask for permission to access files on your device — select Allow. On Android TV, you can navigate using the d-pad arrows on your remote and press OK/Select (center button) to confirm. The app will show a welcome screen with setup options.

Select "Login with Xtream Codes API"

On the welcome screen, you will see two options: "M3U URL" and "Xtream Codes API". Use your remote's d-pad to highlight "Xtream Codes API" and press OK to select. This method loads your entire channel list, VOD library, series, and EPG automatically from your provider's server — no playlist file needed.

Enter Your Server URL, Username & Password

A login form appears with three fields. On Android TV, the on-screen keyboard will appear for each field. Use your remote to type:

  • Server URL — e.g. http://your-iptv-server.com:8080
  • Username — the username provided by your IPTV service
  • Password — the password provided by your IPTV service
